The dream of being able to provide a zipline experience in Hobart

A proposed new project by Shane & Jennifer Abel. 

Shane is a civil engineer with a background in civil and tourism projects. 

He designed and project managed the original Tahune Airwalk.  He later went on to build 3 other tree top attractions in Australia and New Zealand.

Shane & Jennifer currently own and mange the West Coast Tree Top walk in New Zealand with the recent addition of the Tower Zipline.  

Last year, Shane & Jennifer commissioned the Haywards crew from Tasmania for the build of the Tower Zipline in New Zealand.

At the time, Jennifer said to Shane, “We’ve built this fabulous attraction in New Zealand, we should be doing something back home, at our home in Hobart”. 

Therefore the dream of being able to provide a zipline experience in Hobart was born. 

Not only for the locals to enjoy but to boost tourism in our city with the offering of an additional recreation activity.

Should we be successful in our proposal, Haywards would again be building and constructing the zipline.  We estimate to employ 10 FTE’s.
